This impressive two-storey wooden lodge with a unique ‘boat-end feature’ is light airy and spacious providing a high standard of accommodation in a wonderful setting.\nThe main living area on the ground floor is open plan with floor to ceiling triple glazed windows looking out across the 2-acre grounds to the sea beyond. This spacious room is an ideal spot to sit and enjoy the stunning sunsets and watch for local wildlife. Whales dolphins otters and a wide variety of seabirds are seen close by. A large wood burner offers a warm welcoming ambience and also provides the main heating for the house. The kitchen is partially separated just off the dining area. It is extremely well-equipped throughout with two ovens and even a coffee making machine. There is a double bedroom on the ground floor and a spacious shower-room. The main bedroom on the first floor is truly superb. It has floor to ceiling windows looking out across the sea to the Isle of Skye and the Outer Hebrides. There is a third twin room and a family sized shower room on this floor too.\nThe lodge is situated on a small working croft in the remote and pretty hamlet of Melvaig. It is the last habitation on a dramatic road that leads from Gairloch to the Rubha Reidh Lighthouse following the coast along the way. Three miles along the road ends at the north headland where there is a lovely walk out from the lighthouse and the chance to spot rare white tailed eagles and other local wildlife. There is plenty to see and do in the immediate area and for water sports enthusiasts there is a small slipway in Melvaig to launch kayaks and small crafts. The nearby village of Gairloch just 15 minutes’ drive away has a good selection of amenities including shops restaurants bars boat trips fishing trips golf course and an interesting local museum. With stunning sandy beaches hill-walking sailing cycling fishing and wonderful wildlife Fionn Croft Lodge provides an ideal base for a truly memorable Highland holiday. Beach 100 yards. A fantastic getaway at a fabulous house in a beautiful location. Amenities in Gairloch were nearest and good, tho as we stayed near the end of the season some places were closed/on winter hours but this did not impact us (though worth bearing in mind depending what you're after). We were lucky enough to have a few great days weather-wise for walking but also enjoyed the views fro the very comfy house when the weather wasn't so good. Highly recommend and would love to return.

We had a wonderful week relaxing at Fionn Croft Lodge. The cottage is beautiful and very well equipped. The fantastic windows in the master bedroom and living room give a remarkable view over the minch and many an hour was whiled away spotting ships and seabirds with the binoculars and telescope provided. The log burner is very effective and warms the house very efficiently, which was welcome on those cold October evenings. There is everything you could need in the cottage, washing machine/dishwasher/coffee machine etc and all is of a very good quality. The only minor gripe would be the bed in the master bedroom is two singles joined together rather than a double, which may have been a bit more comfortable. If you like views you will certainly not be disappointed by the elevated position and the ever-changing highlands landscape. Beautiful. It was quite a trek down to the water's edge - the 12-year-old and I enjoyed scrambling down to the beach through the fields and the valley of the burn, but this would not be suitable for young children or less nimble relatives. Nearby Gairloch is truly breathtaking - with a good range of amenities, including the hidden gem of the Mountain Coffee Company & Hillbillies Bookshop. Gairloch is a shortish drive away - although the road to Fionn Croft lodge is a narrow and winding single-lane road that might not suit a nervous driver - there were a couple of slightly hairy moments negotiating around diggers and construction workers on the cliff edge. There are plenty of other places to explore in the area - Victoria Falls and Loch Maree were highlights only a short drive away. All in all for a quiet week away you couldn't ask for much more.

Gorgeous cottage in such a fantastic location. The view are spectacular especially the sunsets. Amazing wildlife too, we saw red deer, otters, minke whales & dolphins. Will most definitely be making a return visit.
