This delightful, second floor apartment boasts great views of St Martins Square gardens, with its small grassed seating area. This makes a lovely place to sit and read a book, or for guests who have brought their dogs, it’s ideal for nipping across to for a quick walk around the square. The apartment is just a short stroll to all the amenities such as bars, restaurants, shops and banks, yet it is tucked away in a quiet area of Scarborough. The beach is just around the corner and can be accessed down the paths or by the cliff lift, Britain’s first cliff railway which was built in 1873, and still going strong today. Scarborough is a traditional seaside resort that consists of two bays with a long, flat marine drive which is great for that stroll along the front. The castle stands majestically, perched on the hill, separating the two bays. If you don’t fancy walking, there is open top buses that travel around the resort. For those who do like walking, Scarborough forms part of the Cleveland Way and the last stretch is from Scarborough to Filey, the finishing point. This is a great walk along the rugged clifftops and down into the quaint, traditional resort of Filey. To the north is the bustling town of Whitby and the quaint resort of Robin Hood’s Bay, also on the Cleveland Way, as well as the fantastic North York Moors national park to explore. Catch the steam train from Whitby, over the wild and rugged moors to the market town of Pickering. Just down the coast from Scarborough is the RSPB reserve at Bempton where you can see thousands of migrating birds, the most popular being the comical puffins. Yorkshire is famous for its stately homes and within a short drive there is Sledmere House, Castle Howard, Sewerby Hall and Burton Constable. The medieval city of York can be reached by train direct from Scarborough or an hours drive by car. Beach 600 yards. Shops, pubs and restaurants 400 yards.
