We loved our week in this sweet little cottage. Its a 'proper cottage' experience, very quirky with an interesting history and grade 2 listed. The garden is beautiful, the patio area is private but the owners let you use the garden and the stream/river at the bottom for fishing. Ian caught a trout so he was very happy! Clun is really cute, two pubs that do real ales and food literally yards away, coffee shop, gift shop and the local spar seems to sell most things, sadly the butchers has closed down. The castle is a short walk and the scenery around is beautiful rolling hills. There are good walks all around Clun and the Shropshire Way is nearby. The traffic through the village is fairly light so we didn't experience any problems. The parking space is a little tricky but we got the hang of it. Its probably better to reverse in. We found everyone here really friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend the cottage and the area.

A very characterful cottage, shame about the traffic problems in the village and close to the property.

Wonderful, relaxing break in a cosy cottage which had everything you need for a great break. The access to the lovely gardens down to the river was an added bonus. The village is beautiful with two pubs and a shop and best if all, the people are all very friendly and welcoming to visitors

We found this delightful cottage as a last minute decision to spend a week in Shropshire in a glorious week. It was central to Clun, the smallest town in England, a short walk from shops, pubs and restaurants with a ruined castle as a base for some really nice walks. Close enough to the Welsh border to walk parts of Offa's Dyke and visit Wales. A 17th Century cottage full of oak beams and all conveniences, save a full height shower, set in the gardens of a large Town House backing onto the river. Peaceful despite the road frontage. Would go again.

An absolute gem of a cottage. Attention to detail was superb. One of the best equipped cottages I have ever stayed in.

This is an absolutely delightful cottage, well equipped and with lots of lovely touches. The owners were very pleasant and helpful. The only improvement I can suggest, is that the number of heaters is increased, as this was not always quite sufficient.

We liked The Bothy very much but it was let down by being too cold, despite the owners kindly leaving the gas Woodburner running well before our arrival. We stayed during December whilst attending a party locally and the location is excellent, the cottage is very well equipped with some thoughtful touches such as a tea cosy which is such a good idea and appears to be very unusual in a holiday cottage. We discovered that there were some light bulbs missing and the owner helpfully and very swiftly came over with a lamp. The bathroom is interesting in that you have to sort of climb in under a beam so be reasonably agile. The water was very hot and plentiful which was necessary as the sky light window above appeared to be single glazed and not sealed so that a cold wind whistled through making it impossible to keep the bathroom warm. However the weather became milder towards the end of our weekend and the cottage did then feel very warm and cosy. During warmer weather this would be a very nice cottage to stay and despite the cold we did have a lovely weekend and did love the Bothy.

Nice little cottage. Very warm. Drive is very awkward to get in and out of due to traffic speeding through village.
