Set on the glorious Lanwithan Estate in the pretty riverside town of Lostwithiel these lovely detached properties are perfect for families wanting the peace and quiet of rural surroundings whilst being just a couple of minutes from the town. The Farmhouse has a spacious kitchenbreakfast room a separate more formal dining room and a living room with an open fire. The second property on-site Granny’s Cottage is a charming detached retreat with a romantic four poster bed in the master bedroom. Both properties make an ideal location for a family holiday not only in summer but also for lovely spring and autumn breaks as well as winter and Christmas getaways for a special family gathering.\nThe gardens and grounds at Lanwithan are simply gorgeous with mature oak trees and impressive giant firs growing alongside colourful camellias azaleas and rhododendrons. The Farmhouse and Granny’s Cottage share the extensive grounds with a small cluster of other holiday cottages on-site which have been converted from the original farm buildings. Guests are welcome to wander and explore the grounds take in the stunning views across fields and stroll down to the banks of the River Fowey. The friendly owners live on-site in the manor house and are always happy to help. Lostwithiel itself has a unique range of shops including crafts gifts antiques and an auction house. Beach 7 miles.     A delightful cottage set in spacious grounds within a short walk to Lostwithiel which has good pub food opportunities. No traffic noise whatsoever makes for a great night’s sleep. The open fire was a real welcome in the evening. Very friendly and helpful hosts. We plan to return

    We weren't sure about the Farmhouse as we approached it for the first time, but we soon found that it was brilliant for our needs. Spacious, comfortable, well equipped, gave a 9 as there was no wifi,but once we realised how thick the walls were we could understand why. Ruth and Henry are very friendly and welcoming, a cream tea was left for us which was a lovely surprise. Once we got our bearings we found that the town centre was a just a ten minute stroll with the train station in between. We (5 adults) ate out each evening at some lovely pubs in the town. Great location for visiting the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan to name but 2. We were sad to leave, but my wife and I will definitely be returning to try one of the other Lanwithan Estate cottages.
