Our favourite North Pennines walks

Discover the High Force Waterfall walk...

This enchanting walk takes you to the breathtaking natural wonder of the High Force Waterfall, which has a dramatic 70-foot drop. The scenic trail passes along well-marked paths and has picturesque ciews of the River Tees. The Bowlees Visitor Centre is a great start and end point for the walk, as you can take advantage of the facilities as well as local information. Stay nearby at one of our holiday parks in the North Pennines.

Hike the Pennine Way...

The long-distance Pennine Way is one of the most iconic hiking trails in England, spanning from Derbyshire right up to the Scottish Borders. As it passes through the North Pennines, there are some challenging sections with steep ascents, which in turn provide some incredible views. The glacial valley of High Cup Nick is a particular highlight. Book one of our hot tub lodges in the North Pennines and your body will thank you for a lovely long soak at the end of the day!

Alston Moor Circular Walk...

This walk starts and ends in the charming town of Alston, in the very heart of the North Pennines. The route takes you through stunning countryside with great views, past historic sites like old mine workings, and around the cobbled streets of Alston itself. End your walk with a hearty meal or refreshing pint in one of the town’s cosy pubs.
