If you're a culture vulture visiting Bath for a city break, then you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to museums and galleries. Admire the world-class collection of historic and contemporary fashion at the Fashion Museum in the Assembly Rooms; marvel at the diverse collection of paintings, sculptures and decorative arts at the Victoria Art Gallery; delve into the world of a literary legend at the Jane Austen Museum; or gaze upon the eclectic collection of fine and decorative arts at The Holburne Museum. If you've only got a couple of days, why not book one of our Bath holiday homes in the centre to make the most of your time in the city, or stay at our Bath lodges just outside of the centre. You could also take your canine companion, as we have a great choice of dog-friendly holiday accommodation in Somerset.
One of the best ways to explore this enchanting city is on foot, wandering around the pretty streets and admiring the impressive architecture at every turn. Cross the iconic Pulteney Bridge, adorned with shops on either side; stroll past the sweeping row of Georgina townhouses that line the Royal Crescent; appreciate a moment of stillness in the magnificent Gothic cathedral of Bath Abbey; and wander through the beautiful gardens of Royal Victoria Park. With our range of holiday accommodation, you can decide whether you'd prefer a short break in a stylish apartment in Bath centre, a peaceful retreat in a Somerset hot tub lodge in the countryside or a family-friendly holiday park just outside of the city. Or, for something completely different, check out our glamping holidays in South West England.
Bath is renowned for its rich heritage, with the iconic Roman Baths offering an incredible insight into the city's ancient past. Today, they are a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the top historic monuments in the whole of the UK. Whilst you can no longer bathe here, you can still explore the remains of the baths, temples, and artefacts uncovered during archaeological excavations, gaining insight into the daily lives and customs of the ancient Romans. If you're looking to bathe in the city's famous thermal waters, then you should visit the contemporary Thermae Bath Spa, which sources its water from the same hot springs that the Romans used over 2,000 years ago.
